Mid 1800's Old button with pearls and stars...military?

Hi guys,

I dug this button from the backyard of a historical house in town, built in 1840. It was about 6" deep. Not sure if they are real pearls (probably not lol) but just wondering if anyone has found a similiar button and/or has more information about it. Thanks dudeskis.

Cheers,
Drewski

Here's a pic for a better idea of size. The stars are around the top left pearl, bottom right pearl. Top right and bottom left pearls have star shine streaks around them. Cheers

Awesome find man. Are those real pearls in the cufflinks? If yes, how did you figure that out? :)

Seed pearls are not uncommon in jewelry of the late 19th - early 20th C. The shape told me "cufflink".

Awesome man thanks. My button radar went off from the middle of the back. Looks like the loop could have been soldered in the middle, but I'd imagine a cufflink could be soldered in the same place. Cheers m8
