Cru'Dad & I spent 5 hours 15 minutes in nice conditions, the sun was out for some of the time. Still no gloves or coats needed!
This was our last chance, as the Wheat is getting to the point that the owner wants us off & we have gridded the best area & even some of the less productive area.

1 Tudor Button
1977 Luke - for a Jedi he is pretty armless
3 good buckles
3 Jetton
1 Royal Farthing
Chartwheel Penny
2nd C AD Brooch
1st C AD Roman Fibula
Geo II Pan/Trade Weight
Silver Hair/Hat Pin with Glass
181(6?) Shilling
Near Blank Geo III Sixpence
1561 Hammered Sixpence - Got this in the last 20 minutes!

All 3 silvers (& the pinhead) fell to me today - a good finish, & better luck next time to the old man.:metaldetector:

Another day out with a very good return, well more like great considering I'm looking at snow and no detecting now till spring.

Very Nice day out ! Nice silver grab , Great on the last minute Lizzie !

Amazing finds as usual! You do find you share of silver...

A better than average sixpence, apart from the slight clipping you couldn't ask for better. Looks like they will be a few more bits there for you and your Dad next year.

Luke Skywalker: I'll never join you!
Vader: If you only knew the power of the Dark Side. Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Vader: No. I am your father.
Luke: No...no. That's not true. That's impossible!
Vader: Search your feelings, you know it to be true!
Luke: Noooo! Nooooo!

Nice hammered sixpence!

sweet sixpence! I wish we could find coins that old here in the states. the action figure gave me a laugh for sure.

Nice going Cru. It might surprise you that my favorite of the coins you found is that George III sixpence. Those 1700s British milled silvers are impossible to find over here, and I have yet to dig one. I guess that was due in large part to the prohibition for exporting silver coins to the colonies, but not sure when that policy ended.

Wow! I wanna come help!

I'd be happy as a pig in . . . stuff.

Not to mention you've set the discovery of Star Wars back almost 400 years!

Good finds on your last day there. Love these enameled brooches. They turn up so rarely here and even less with some enamel left. The sixpence is nice too! But the best seem to me that your weather still is perfect for detecting. We had so much rain the last weeks you can't detect. You just stuck in the mud. :dontknow:

It's obvious that in the toy-universe Vader fianlly chopped Luke's head off...

Nice old six pence. (and shilling too)

#2 looks like you also found luke's ship.
seriously,
#1 I got one of these with quite a bit of gold left on it. Came from a place of all ages so I had no idea how old or what. A decoration of some kind, I guess with a couple of hooks on the back, probably came off leather ?

The sixpence is near blank, so maybe you mean the Shilling, although you might mean either in any condition??
We find roughly 10 times more hammered than Geo milled. They were very careful here, so not surprised they are hard over there.

We had quite a bit of rain as well, but this is one of the best drained fields in the area (Sandy). So it was wet but not too sticky.

They normally have at least 2 bent over hooks on the back to attach them to leather. Most went on horse harnesses & both of ours are an 18th C type.

Very nice Cru. Those coins and buckles are greatt but I really like the pin with the glass in it. Amazing how well things were made back then. Something made today would last till tomorrow.
