Hiya guys,
Just found this site I am an Illinois boy that's been coinshooting and water hunting for ... Wow, this is my 40th year. Damn I'm an old fart.
I have some good finds though the years. Two gold pocket watches, one dug at the base of a tree at about 6 inches and another I found in an old house in the bathroom above the medicine cabinet. I have hunted for coins in abandon hunting lodges, parks and old homes. Found mini-balls and other Civil war relics, I've used a hookah to hunt underwater and hunted waist deep as well, which i prefer . I have currently four detectors.
Whites XLT
Fisher CZ-6a
Fisher CZ-20
Fisher Gold Bug 2 (my newest)
I just bought a new (used) metal detector a gold bug 2 I have been out in the Yuma area a couple times, still that first chunk o gold still eludes me. Any successful nugget shooters in the Yuma area feel like taking a newbie along on one of your hunts?
We'll if not I'm sure I'll dig something up some day.
