I can't get a good picture with my camera, so I'm hoping some one can tell me about this button I found. It's a convex 1 1/2" brass or copper button. It has a spread wing eagle with a shield holding a branch in each claw. It has a banner on each side of it's head with E Pluribus Unum on it. At the top is globe with 13 stars. The eagle is a separate piece from the button. On the back is a thumb screw. No markings on the back. Thanks
Here's another button I found also.

Re: military button help

Sounds like a U.S. Army Great Seal screwback Hat Pin... enlisted.

I'll look for a picture.

Is this close to it? I realize you stated it was seperate pieces.

Thanks! That's what it looks like.

Made by several manufacturers and in different qualities (a two piece pin being probably nicer and more expensive) these are no older than the early 1900s. A picture of yours would help date it a little better. :)
