Found this at an 1875 home site in central Indiana. It is brass and 1.5 inches in diameter. It lacks any sort of back, but the central part shows where I believe something had been attached. So my questions are- 1) Is this military as I am assuming? 2) If military, what was it? Was it a button? 3) If military, is there an estimate as to the appropriate time period/war? As always, I thank you in advance. Military badge front.webpMilitary badge back.webp

It may be a collar disc or bridal rosette but it is military. It may also be a hat badge. My computer crashed and I lost all my book marks that I used to help me Id these things so hopefully someone will be along soon to give you more info. It is no earlier than 1901 and I am just guessing that it would date from the 40s up.

That looks about right. The area covered by the clasp/pin back is the same size as the discolored area on the back of mine. Thanks.
