So I found this military button, which I think is from WW2 or after, since the house I am in was built sometime around 1940. However after searching around to try and identify the type of button it is, I have come up empty. I have searched many different generations of military uniform with no luck at anything similar.

I found it around 9 inches deep in my front yard, nothing else like it, so it's a fluke I guess..

See if any of you button guys can identify..

What does the back look like?

Re: Military looking button

No detail. Its kinda rusty actually. No loop, looks to be a square hole where you could thread it on. Almost appears the detail part is a cap.

Re: Military looking button

It's an eagle with stars (on lines) fashion button, non-military.

Watuerbury Button Co. makes an exact match today, but flat with two holes. (Pattern #80133)

Without any backmark reference it'll be hard to date yours.

Re: Military looking button

excellent thank you.

The only reason I thought it was military was there are some almost identical symbols around the house, and the original owner was in the military, so it just made sense.. WEll at least now i know why I couldn't find it...
