Military or just cool design?

Hunted a virgin house site today that is not on any maps or records. Found maybe 15 flat buttons including this one. Has 7 stars in the middle and design on the border. Possibly military? We can't read the backmark at all.

I don't know if this is the case with your button but buttons were 7 stars are sometimes called "Coming of Age Buttons". Supposedly a young man would receive sets of 3 buttons with 7 stars when he turned age 21.

Wow I hope that's the case. I've never heard of that before now.
