Hi, so I was going through my grandpa's property today and found a bunch of bottles and jars, I know most of them are probably newer than the mid 1900s but is there anything from this time frame worth collecting? There are lots of canning jars, some still with home canned food and jams in them! And other jars with homemade wine, which is over thirty years old. Anyway I took pictures of a couple to see if they are anything to keep, what do you all think? I've got 4 like those milk bottles with the Dairy name on them. Really like the cardboard tops. I've found the tops they went to after the cardboard at the old school yard behind the kitchen. They went to a thin foil material. I've dug probably 15 or 20. Congrats on your finds.

You could find local bottles that are worth collecting. (Embossed milks, sodas and beers). Most of the time you will also find something older mixed in. Look out for enameled signs and advertising.

I think if you like them they're worth keeping. I save old bottles with no monetary value because I enjoy them due to color or shapes.

Thanks for the replys, I will definitely keep a few of the milk bottles and probably the other just because, but there are about 30 of the milk bottles with the lids. There is so much out there that is hard to choose what to keep without just filling my house. Everything from old tools, old vacuum cleaners, old fridges, I already claimed a few of his old army bags from the Korean war. It's really cool sorting through everything, just wish I knew more about it all.
