About 10 years ago I drove to Green Bay towards the end of April to sing at a friends wedding. When I got about forty miles south of Green Bay it was snowing sideways, and there was already a few feet of snow on the ground. My first question was: "Don't ya'll have calendars up here? It's Spring!"

Whoa, that sure does validate my decision to move to California.

I was working on the piers on the West Side of NY as a Customs
Inspector, and the wind was howling in off the Hudson River with
chunks of ice floating by, and my toes frozen inside my boots,
and I vowed that I would move to
California and NEVER complain about the heat!
