Detector(s) used
Ace 250 and Tesoro Silver Umax
I have the chance to buy a Minelab Excalibur for $150.00 from a guy at work. I don't know if it's a Excalibur II or earlier model, and have no idea if it's a 1000 or an 800 model. I'm going to look at it after work tomorrow.

Right now, I have a crappy Bounty Hunter and was looking at detectors only up to $400.00. I was going to buy a Tesoro Cibola. Would I be happy with this type of water detector or is it too specialized for nornal park/field type detecting.

Thanks!

Steve

You better buy it i would buy them every day of the week at that price if it works you never see them at that price you would pay $400.00 and up for one of the first one they made back in 1991................

I would buy it at that price. Even if it doesn't work that is a good price as Minelab can fix it. However I would not use this as a land grass detector. While it won't sound off on normal nails, it doesn't have the tac driving pinpoint of land detectors with VCO pinpointing where the area is as small as a dime.

Jump on it, it's a great deal.

I would buy it, if i was you. :)

The $150.00 Minelab is an Excalibur 800. The guy I work with is in Florida until March. When he gets back, I'm going to buy it. I showed him how much it's worth and he told me that he knows and he will sell it to me for $150.00. He said he hasn't used it in years and it works perfect. I'll post back when I get it.

:icon_thumleft: Outstanding deal :icon_thumright:

If i was to buy a underwater detector that has been stored in a closet for a long time, i would send it to service before using it. :)
