Sometimes metal detector companies release a detector that truly is a game changer. The Minelab 600/800 with its Multi IQ tech achieved that with many people I know who detect in much more challenging soil and beach conditions.

For gold nugget prospectors that are serious about it, the Equinox 800/900 and Manticore along with Legend 1 and Legend 2 with their gold prospecting modes were eye openers as far as much improved ground handling, depth and accuracy on smaller nuggets in moderate to really bad ground compared to single frequency dedicated gold prospecting detectors. The possibility of select digging using these Multi IQ type detectors while gold prospecting started to be a reasonable possibility too.

The Gold Monster 2000 is the first dedicated gold prospecting detector with Multi IQ and hybrid pulse induction technology. It runs simultaneous multi frequency transmit frequencies between 12 and 76 kHz, it has Pulse Induction type audio and it has taken the possibility of very accurate select digging while gold prospecting even in highly mineralized dirt to a whole new level.

It is also a really good micro jewelry detector and that is from my own experience compared to Deus 2 using its HF2 coil.

The GM 2000 and its 10X6" accessory coil are constantly and quickly selling out faster than production can keep up with for a reason. It's not hype or some kind of got to have the latest model just because it's new.

This detector is really unique and brilliant. Absolutely nothing like it on the market today

If you are looking for a really effective, mostly full-time dedicated gold prospecting detector that can also easily handle micro jewelry while also doing coin/jewelry/relic hunting in a pinch, you have to consider the GM 2000 seriously.

Thanks for sharing the real-world feedback.

Your comments about the GM 2000 handling highly mineralized ground are especially interesting, especially since you've also used the Deus 2 with the HF2 coil.

In difficult ground, are you finding Auto 1 / Auto 2 gives you better overall stability and small-gold sensitivity, or do you prefer setting the sensitivity manually once you get familiar with the ground?

I'd also be interested to hear how you feel the GM 2000 compares with the Deus 2 + HF2 specifically on very small gold.

I have used both detectors on sites with high to extreme magnetite mineralization and with hot rocks from the earth's upper mantle.

I have only used these detectors on difficult ground that requires using the Gold Monster 2000 in its difficult setting. If ground conditions are difficult and variable I tend to use Auto 2. For me, Auto 1 is more for super extreme ground or for a good starting point for beginners. It reduces sensitivity too much in my area. If ground conditions are bad but consistent I switch to Manual after using Auto 2 to determine what the best sensitivity level is for the area. Gold Monster 2000 will ground balance very quickly and can be adjusted on the fly with just a few gentle coil pumps unlike the Gold Monster 1000. Unfortunately, I have difficulty ground balancing Deus 2 in Gold Field at these same sites using the HF2 coil even running the most optimal settings. This results in lots of extra ground noise and instability. Using the default Pitch 2 setting is not possible here as is using the default audio gain setting. I have to lower audio gain to 4 or less and use the original Pitch setting which cures much of the over reaction to the magnetite and hot rocks in the area but also cuts back the overall sensitivity to smaller low conductor targets and depth.
I'd also be interested to hear how you feel the GM 2000 compares with the Deus 2 + HF2 specifically on very small gold.
They are very close if Deus 2 can be used with Pitch 2 audio. That would have to be in an area with milder mineralization and less hot rocks however. Gold Monster 2000 wins easily against Deus 2 with original Pitch audio.

Comparing the two on high to extreme magnetite mineralization and high levels of hot rocks, as stated earlier, Gold Monster 2000 wins easily since it handles the ground conditions and hot rocks with ease and can be run almost at max sensitivity using A2 or Manual 9 or 10. It's other major advantage over Deus 2 with HF2 coil in Gold Field is it's Echo Wave audio system which combines the audio modulation of Pitch type VCO audio but adds iron tone and non ferrous tone to the normal threshold based audio detecting tone. Echo Wave audio also has typical low/high, high/low and crossover audio responses similar to Minelab pulse induction audio along with characteristic multiple beep audio on shallower iron targets like nails and familiar single beep audio per coil sweep on non ferrous targets.

Deus 2 is limited to highly reactive Pitch 2 VCO audio or less reactive but less sensitive Pitch 1 audio. On high mineralization, sensitivity has to be lowered and reactivity raised to 3 or more which again causes sensitivity to smaller non ferrous targets.

Deus 2 is easily more comfortable to swing and more adaptable for use on vertical rock faces or on vertical or overhead excavation surfaces since you can literally remove the lower shaft, put the upper shaft with controller down nearby and just detect with the lower shaft and coil due to its wireless connection.

Gold Monster 2000 is as ungainly and top heavy as the Gold Monster 1000 unfortunately and it doesn't even have built in wireless audio.

However, I would pick the Gold Monster 2000 over Deus 2 9 times out of 10 and the only reason I would pick Deus 2 that 10th time would be for the ability to remove the lower shaft and coil for site specific reasons as mentioned above.

Some long time Gold Monster 1000 users have made the mistake of thinking that the Gold Monster 2000 is just an improved 1000 and they try to run the 2K like it's a 1K. NO! Gold Monster 2000 is a Mutli IQ technology gold prospecting specific detector with much faster ground tracking, faster and way better ground balance and ground handling capabilities, accurate Multi IQ target IDs and ferrous/non ferrous probability bar graph indicator and advanced pulse induction audio characteristics which can be used for quasi selective digging in the gold fields if the user doesn't swing the coil too fast and slows down a bit and listens carefully. Gold Monster 1000 had none of those features and the "discrimination" features it had (if I can call them that) where highly inaccurate since it was just running a single frequency with none of the benefits of Multi IQ technology.
