A friend found a 30 ounce nugget with a GPX 4500. If the GPZ 8000 opens up deeper ground, it pays for its-self pretty quick!

While out of my price range being thousands of miles from good gold fields, gold is at $4500+ oz, so it wouldn't take very long to recoup cost if you are in good gold country.

The price of Minelab PI detectors is what many call the "gold tax." Compared to older models, the Z8k has the lowest gold tax so far. Here is is how many ounces of gold it took to pay off a bunch of ML models; calculation based on MSRP and price of gold at the time of product release:
