minelab question

I'm looking to purchase an underwater detector, and an leaning toward the minelab excal. 800/1000.
question is this; does the minelab disc. out all iron? because there are times you want to find iron objects, such as on shipwreck site,,etc. any help would be appreciated.

You can set the dicrimination to accept iron.

By turning the Pinpoint mode on, you are in all metal. The 800 coil is more sensitive to tiny gold, but I have no trouble finding earring studs with the Excal 1000. I guess it depends on your sweep speed and sensitivity. The Excal is tops in my opinion.
