As I had read some previous posts regarding Minelab service, I felt I should add my experience.
I had a problem with my E-Trac control box, so I sent it off for repair.
I got a call when they received it and they gave a rough estimate of 20 business days to assess/repair.
And that is exactly what happened; a brand new control unit arrived in less than 20 days, so thanks to Minelab for prompt and courteous service!

Cool !
when did you send it in ?

Still no word on Mine yet
was sent out Jan 14th.
they got it the 19th.

Took them almost a month to get back to me, with what was wrong with it. Paid for the repairs and had in back about a week later. All in all it went well. Judging from the snow on the ground it was no rush. :tongue3: Plus it was a back up machine. Good luck Jeff. :icon_thumright:

Yes the amount of Snow , Ice & Sub freezing days here
this year, I Won't be able to even test it for
another 60 Days or so I'm sure.
but I'm under the Impression
I'll get a Call any day now, Won't be late
till the 18th.

It went better then I was thinking it was going too. And it even cost less then I thought it was going to. Mine needed some kind of board, bill was $96, I was happy. Now had it been spring and I only had one machine, I certainly would have been chaffing. :P

they had to put a new Plug on the back of mine
last year , one of the pins was broke.

From how it was acting, My guess their Soldering Job
went bad.

Coil to the ground went nuts sometimes and
wouldn't detect.

coil to the air Perfect.

Jeff:

I mailed it on January 4th, I think the call from Minelab saying they got it came on the 8th. They had it back to me on Feb 4th, just under their 20 day estimate; I was very pleased. The original control box had a problem with some of the buttons not responsive - most notably the pinpoint button. The new unit seems to function perfectly, but I can't give it a good test right now, NE Ohio is buried under snow and ice. Looks good though!
