Hello everyone,
I'm a T2 user with tens of thousands of hours of daily hunting. I really want to buy the new Equinox 800. I'd like to ask a question of you Minelab users. The T2 has a great tone choice called 2+. It allows you to hear death, strength, whether iron or not etc BUT- it is always only one tone per pass over the target. The tone has an infinite amount of sounds, but it's always one tone. The Minelab, on the other hand, seems to produce multiple sounds going over a single target. Something like-
blupe BLUPE BEEP BLUPE blupe. Why multiples sounds over a single target? Do they help when you learn the language? Thank you!!

That hasn't been my experience using the Explorer, E-trac, Excalibur, and CTX. I get one tone per target.

Here is an example cudamark...at the 1:27 he passes coin and sometimes gets one tone but mostly gets two quick ones. Thanks!

What video/audio is that? :icon_scratch:

Sorry, cudamark!! I must have forgotten to attach the video! I got an answer to my question from a friend...thanks!

So what was the answer?

They told me each VDI number has its own sound and that the conductive numbers change on the target ID, and at the same time, the sounds are changing. That's the "blup BLUP BEEP BLUPE blup" that I was talking about. For a moment you're hearing both numbers. And then a single number. And when the ferris number change that creates a mixture of both sounds also. Also, one can set up the tone lengths which will dictate how the machine rings.

Does the "death tone" sound like a high pitched whine? :laughing7:
Sorry just pulling your leg a bit.

So what was the answer?
