Minelab x terra 305 Help

Ok so I just brought the mine lab x terra 305. First hour I found badge, 20c, 10c and copper wire.
Im having trouble with the pin pointer sometimes. once i was metal detecting then I found a target then for some crazy reason I lifted my detector up in the air in pin point mode and It kept pin pointing nothing. It acted like there was metal in the air.
p.s only happens on some targets.

In that case I simply wouldn't raise it in the air when pinpointing.

More than likely its a big hunk of iron or soda can . Depending on where you're hunting it may be worth checking out.
