I was using a small 7.5 coil with my MInelab X-terra 305 and had the sensitivity turned up full blast and was having good success. I decided to get the Minelab DD 18.75 coil, should I change any settings with a bigger coil or I should be OK using the setting I used with the 7.5 KHZ coil? Anything I should know about using a bigger coil?

What are you hunting for? 18.75 is a freq and coil designed for hunting small gold nuggets.

Been through a few (a lot) of detectors in my day and the Xterra 305 with 18.75 (concentric) stands out in my mind as the most nickel locking on combo I ever used. Felt like it pulled my arm to nickels! Never used the large coil but should handle the same, if it gets unstable or noisy just turn it down a bit.

I use the higher frequency coin on my X-Terra 705 when hunting play areas, parks, volleyball courts...etc. I have had much success with the 18.75 Khz coin. :icon_thumleft:
