This is so neat, marks indicate ming I believe. Any thoughts?

This is a "censor"... and a design that was widely duplicated.

Not saying that yours in not what you think it is.

I won it in a lot, of other things. This one never gave info, photos of the bottom. I just thought cute little pot with the other stuff I was getting. So I was a bit surprised when researching the marking. Oh how neat it would be if it was genuine. It sure is pretty though

These kinds of marks are almost never authentic on Chinese bronzes or porcelain. They're not counterfeit, but pieces inspired by or paying homage to the original items. Copying the original mark was seen as a natural part of that reverence. Best get it looked at anyway... because there's always an outside chance.

If you don't like the smell of incense, these pieces look great with a tea candle flickering inside them.
This is a nice auction find and it has the potential to be very old.

I would suggest getting it authenticated by a reputable dealer specializing in Asian antiques.
Emailing pics to a dealer will often suffice.
