Nice finds. Regarding the black marble sphere in the last photo; I'm not sure about in MN but in Ohio they used these kinds of balls when making drums. Those are called Shawnee Water Drums, you can find pictures of recently made ones with the balls around the drum surface with skins stretched over them. Just a thought.
