Minnesotan with a question about water hunting

My parents have a home in Bonita Springs and Im visiting in a few days and bringing my detector. I m looking around the forums and im not 100% sure on the legality of water hunting. I only want to hunt the public beaches in water for lost rings and jewelry. Id only bee hunting the water up to about chest high. Is this legal or not?
