minting error?

Found this in a roll of halves. Could this be from the mint or just very worn? The rim is very distinked but the rest very worn almost to non existant it is a 1990 d

This is known as a strike through grease and is indeed a mint error congrats Most of these types of errors are completely worthless but yours is quite severe and would certainly demand a premium. This error happens when grease builds up on the die becoming hard and preventing the design from striking up.
