welcome to the club
it dont look like it has a problem
alot of the 2's look that way from that time
if im not mistaken

Thanks! Figured it was time to sort all of my coins and this one stuck out. But I only have one other 1929 penny to compare it to so… shrug.

i have found pennies the diameter / thickness of dimes, a 2 headed penny crh.etc,
anything you find different or appealing to you save, put in a holder and such, it might be appealing to someone else.
one day they may be able to be passed down or sold
i also roll and save all 1982 back to the first memorial as they are 95% copper
thats poor mans gold to me,lol

Wasn't sure what's going on with this penny, but the 2 in 1929 seems squished. The coin is not in great shape, but this doesn't seem like it would be wear and tear.

It is a clogged digit, what happens is grease builds up in that particular spot on the die and when the coin is struck the grease prevents the digit from striking up fully. Its not worth anything more than a curiosity however they are quite common even missing an entire digit most times.

I am sorry to disagree but the "2" in the Date took a hit (damage) at the same time that the "9" in the Date did. You can see damage on both as well as where the bottom horizontal tail of the "2" used to be.

Yeah, it's PMD. You can see the scratch that did the damage. It goes right up under Lincoln's chin to his neck.
