Mississippi!!!

Out with one of my digging buddies John LeFevre yesterday and found my first Mississippi Infantry Button!!

Backmark, "Hyde and Goodrich".

A field that has produced some pretty nice buttons, including a couple VA State Seal buttons, and New York buttons as well! Some of these were found by Ina Finn and John LeFevre

Was a great day for both of us as John found cut silver and a New York Staff Button!

Was the first one I had ever seen too! I saw the Star first and thought I had a Texas button at first glance!

That's an awesome button teak! I like the state buttons the most and that's one incredible example. Awesome hunt and looking forward to what else comes from that place.

Nice find. That's the best Civil War button I've seen posted here. Is it possible to tell which regiments wore these buttons? For example Barksdales's Mississippian's fought at Gettysburg and it would be neat if these buttons could be attributed to specific Mississippi regiments.
