Well, it's marketed for kids. Perhaps even a "sub-beginner" category lower than the Ace/Go-Find/CoinMaster type machines at $150-200. Many will scoff/laugh at it and say it is a toy or junk.....but they would be the fools to scoff at.
The recovery speed and discrimination is crazy good for the price. It also picks up small meteorites that many 300-400 detectors won't. It beeps high on coins and high conductors while discriminated signals provide a low broken grunt. It goes to 4-5 inches with discrim on and gains an extra inch for the magic 6 with it turned off. Nothing beyond 6 inches unless it is a can or something quite big.

My son got it for Christmas last year and hit a 10K ring the first day out with it...so I guess I am biased. But I still have so much fun with this machine it makes me wonder if I am sane sometimes.
