I've been hunting almost max sensitivity and most of the time in all metal mode with my Ace 250 and I'm getting much better depth. I know someone once said you can't find silver dimes over 6" deep with an Ace 250 but I did find a wheat at 8" this evening and it rang loud. That model A or T key was around 6" and it came in as a nickel loud and clear. The FFA pin was at least 6" and it came in as a nickel. That round copper ball whatzit was about 4". I found a couple of bullets, one is a 38 and a 38 shell. Dang I was happy to find that key. I found another one about 20 yrs ago but you could read Ford better. HH to all!!!

(I forgot to say that it has the number 56 stamped on the back)

Very nice finds DANGLANGLEY, WTG!!!
Sounds like your getting some pretty good depth from that ace, keep up the good work/play ;D
Don't let those little detectors fool ya, When I first started detecting I was using a small Radio Shack unit that we bought for my nephew a few years earlier. When I first started using it, I could hardly find anything over 4" down, but after getting some headphones, and a little practice, I was dig'n dimes at 7", or better...
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

I agree with Montana Jim. (Downright dangerous not to!)

It's a Model T switch key, c. 1909-1927. Numbers ranged from 51 to 74.

(Similar keys, but with numbers 101-124— i.e., 50 added to the Ford key number— were made for Dodge switches.)
