I may be wrong but I think your button is old. It looks like a cast button with integral shank that has been drilled. The design reminds me of a Phoenix symbol. I couldn't find an example but, hopefully someone will be along to add their opinions as to the authenticity of your find.

Neat button. It’s not a phoenix, but a “Prussian” style imperial eagle. Note that it has a crown. Various “Germanic” states have used it as an emblem and it’s still part of Poland’s coat of arms today. It might be military or other official uniform from somewhere in that region but, as an emblem, was also heavily borrowed for use on buttons of gentlemen’s clothing such as blazers

This stylized eagle was frequently used by Nazi Germany. Mostly without the crown. I’d say Red-Coat is right on the money.
