While clearing some recently purchased property, I run across a newer dump. A dead give away was the old vehicle lying on its side. This vehicle looks to be a small delivery van, raking back the debris I found a frame of the radio with the words "Hudson". Will have to take a picture to post later.

I found Coca Cola, 7-Up and Dr. Pepper bottles, along with many mayonaise, mustard & BBQ sauce bottles, broken pottery, cups, dishes, Mason jars and one that got my memory was the green glass (the ones that came in the oatmeal boxes), old percolater and a tricycle.

My surprise was finding the rubber rat, minus tail & nose and the plastic elephant.

Nothing really to brag about compared to other people's finds, but I enjoyed my time till the heat of day chased me home to the a/c comfort.

HH ;)

The elephant is cool. Where the soda bottles plastic or glass? Keep at it and happy hunting. :)

how old are the bottles? some of them are pretty valuable.... if the 7-up is a 6 oz with bubbles on the label its fairly rare. congrats on the finds... also take the old van to the scrap yard.. scrap prices are up ...... along with gold and silver

Hey Girl...Go rip that Hudson apart...little items on it can be worth a few bucks...plus alot of old coins can roll out from under the seats!

keep an eye out for any chrome peices off the hudson as these are quite valuable if in good condition....any part of a hudson should be sellable if in decent shape.......gldhntr

went to the dump to discard an old grill, while unloading it i saw a chrome plane on the ground....picking it up i realized it was a 50's hood ornament,, a little research proved it was from a 53 chevy bel-air.....put it on e-bay for $1.00, sold it 7 days later for $ 51.55.........call me a rat anytime.............goldenrat

Dumps are just one persons deposits that the rest of us smile and with-draw. ;D ::) Burdie

Rubber Rat....ahhhh....I mean River Rat. It sounds like you should find some nice stuff in your own private junkyard. ;D

And, yes, I would start with the Hudson. Open a Ebay account and sell it piece by piece.
