Found this today at a farm that was a battlefield during the civil war. Can't figure out how old it is though.

Can you take it to a metalurgist? My boyfriend said civil war slugs were round, so it is modern like it is from a rifle?

Hard tellin age.
How deep are relics known from the era found in relation to this piece? Context can hint.
Was ground disturbed since the war? Ect. Ect...

Could be a .490 roundball. Still in use.

It was around 4 inches deep and the bullets I've found have been around 4-6 inches, I have no idea if the ground has been disturbed or not. It is on a ranch though so it couldve been moved over the years.
