Having a water machine that can adjust to the hunt conditions as needed is a great advantage, whether it be the coverage or depth of a large coil, or being able to swap out to a super small coil for those trash areas close into the shore. Luck has it the Minelab Sovereigns has many options for coils and now these can be used on the Excalibur if a summer of testing goes well.... First hunt went well last Sunday, 75 minutes with the 10 inch, fitting/detector submerged most of the time...hunt ended early with a broken rod end. And this is the second hunt Monday, little over two hours, trashy area using the little S-5, she performed very well picking out four silvers, then issues started and it became impossible to use, but not because of the connector.

What can I say other than, another great, informative video OBN. I enjoy every one of them and I'm not alone. WTG

very nice OBN

Excellent video Joe, looks like that may be my next project, would like to swap coils like that. You've got a good hunting site there finding those older coins. Good luck with your projects and thanks for the mods to my excal. John

very nice OBN

Thanks guys, this has to be one of the best options for an Excalibur hunter. In the Chesapeake Bay there are so many conditions to deal with and having several coil options handy is going to be a real Game Changer. I love this one...

as always great mod. Joe

Great job Joe!
Definitely a game changer.
You have done what Minelab should have done.

P.S. I may have an even better fix for those top o-rings drying out. I'll send you some samples next week.

The warranty on my Excal has just run out, and I am anxiously awaiting your seal of approval on some connectors. I would love the ability to swap back and forth between coils, on my own. I do not swim, so should never have to test the connections deeper than 5 feet or so. I will be following this one (thread) wholeheartedly. Artie

Without a doubt....having a reliable ability to easily and quickly swap coils on the Excal to meet the hunting conditions is essential. When I was able to hunt I was swapping coils on my machine all the time due to changing conditions. Couldn't dream of not having that ability now.
