Modoc/Siskiyou County Newbie

I just moved to the tulelake/Merrill area. I'd like to get into relic hunting. Old farm, military, etc stuff really interests me. I've heard there's a lot of "relic hunters" in this area. Sound like the clear lk and other areas in the modoc are top places to go. Anybody have any insight or willing to take me out and show me the ropes?
