I have a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II and I'm new so forgive me if this is a dumb or commonly known question.I live in central Florida and we've had more than our share of rain lately, when I've been hunting I'm getting some really good depth from my detector on alot of small finds and coins, does moisture in the ground affect the depth of this detector or detectors in general ? morayman............

Short answer yes, wetter soil means deeper ground penetration. Water is a great conductor of electricity so you get deeper hits when the soil is wet.

Good advice after storms, rain, those earlier mornin hints are great to when the ground has the dew on it u get more depth & ur machine can basically see more further into the ground

We've had enough rain to saturate the ground,it's almost all sand, after you scratch away the first 1" or 2" of the top.Kind of like beach digging. This Florida summer weather you can count on plenty of rain.I was just getting some deep hits and am pleased with the depth, but since I'm just learning I dig eveything which makes for some excavating!I'm new to my detector and didn't know what to expect from it either.morayman......
