Hey y’all! Went on a late afternoon stroll with my mom this evening and she found an absolute killer! Needle-tipped Guilford Straight Base from Iredell Co, NC. One of the finest examples I’ve seen. Talk about a great first point!

Happy Mother’s Day to her!

Wow that is a heck of a first find gonna be hard to top that...... looks very old you sure it’s a Guilford ?

Based on my own finds from this site, I’m pretty confident w/ Guilford. Personally, I’ve found every Guilford base variation from there except for the straight base: concave, stemmed, bifurcated stem, and round.

arrow86–are you seeing something that makes you think it may be a different style?

That is a nice Guilford. They're usually banged and dinged up pretty good.

That one saw some use and sharpening but it was taken care of. Nice.

That’s a great way to get introduced to the hobby!

Good deal!!
