Montana Relic Question

I'm heading out to Montana to do some relic hunting for a few days and was wondering if I have to worry about hot ground? Here in Missouri I can hunt anywhere, but I've heard North Georgia and Virginia have real hot ground and some detectors do not work there......just wondering what the soil is like. Thanks,
