Well, no show stoppers, but I had some decent results this week before I headed to work. I was panning some dirt I picked up last weekend off the tailgate of my truck. It's great because I had plenty of coffee lol! When you are looking for sapphires in dirt you want it to be like you are at the beach, wet and sunny! 0619191008.webp0619190956a.webp0619190956c.webp0619191102.webp0619190957.webp0619191057a.webp0619190956.webp0619191133b.webp0619191208.webp0619191208a.webp0619191210a.webpThe two carat stone is unfortunately fractured, the 1.5 carat is a cutter. I'm looking for something 3 carats or more, but this was definitely better than last year! 20 carats in total. Thinking about paying a visit to one of the mines on the Missouri river if I can swing it this year.

LoL! No! I was "working" off the tailgate of my truck. I didn't want to bend over to pan lol!

I would suck at hunting for such gemstones. I can't tell what is or what isn't most of the time.
I'd be the guys going home all excited about a pile of silica or broken glass.
That or my ADHD would start raging after panning about 25 pounds of nothing.

Good job and good luck in the future.

It's addictive as hell. Gold opened up the rabbit hole for me, but gems are sucked me in.

Awesome sapphires @iamzim. Nothing like finding your own.
