Hi, all. Just wanted to post up some pictures from what I believe is the last of my finds from my hot section of beach, as it is completely sanded in at this point. Went out there a few times this week to see if I could salvage a few more finds before Mother Nature filled the sand back in, and I was lucky enough to come away with a few more goodies, including more clad, to bring my total over two weeks to around $75 and almost 700 coins. On Tuesday I was working near the high tide line when I got a penny signal that kept bouncing a bit lower. When I dug it, I realized that I had found another old coin- a 1906 Indian. I was pretty excited, as this was the oldest coin that I had found in that section. Not 15 minutes later I was swinging along the same line when I got a nice, solid nickel signal. I remember hoping that I might have a Buffalo, but when I dug out the sand and flipped it over, a broken, old men's gold ring was sitting there. The stone is one that I've never seen- maybe just discolored from years of being buried in beach sand. Does anyone have an opinion on what it might be? it looked like a black onyx coming out of the wet sand, but as it dried, it turned this milky white color. It looks like the karat stamp was on the missing piece... But I'm sure that its old gold as I can see the cross-section of it where it broke. I'm thinking that I might have a jeweler take a look at it to see if it's worth fixing. May go back tomorrow to look for another cut. Thanks for looking in and happy hunting!
