I can answer that question for him. Yes. He is my brother and we used to live in Western Maryland. The town we lived in was occupied by the north or south for the duration of the war. A normal hunt would yield a couple hundred bullets. But, this was back in the 70s-90s when metal detecting was just beginning in earnest.
