Had a lot of rain in the last 3 days and the ground was ripe for getting down to some deep targets. Started off very quickly hitting a 1944 Wheat at 8", and six inches from there I got a faint hit that yielded a 1941 Merc - was off to a good start!
3 hours later with a pocket full of nails and aluminum
I got over another whisper target to pull a sharp 1904 Indian that tumbled into a fairly sharp example! Last coin of the night was a sharp 1916 Buffalo nickel. I tumbled this coin all day today for about 10 hours total, but nickels are much harder metal than pure copper wire, so the end result was an improvement, but not like the results obtained from the Indians....
In contrast I only needed to tumble the Indian for about 2 hours to get good results. Don't ever want to get below the green patina since this would kill the eye appeal.
No more hunting for me until I replace the timing belt, and some other seals in my car. It's going through a quart/week and I drive ~100 miles/week. Time to fix that little problem
