Reid and I went back for the 3rd time last Friday to hit our strange site that has been producing a few colonial finds, but mostly coins and tokens from the mid-1800s to about 1910. As I've stated before, we feel this is some sort of a store site based on what we've been digging. The main area has been hit quite hard, but still continues to produce. By going slow in the iron and stubble, and digging iffy signals we've been able to add to our totals. On Friday I was able to get another silver - an 1887 seated dime - and Reid got himself a barber dime In addition to a few more IHs, buttons and tokens I was also able to recover 2 heart-shaped pendants from the Jamestown Exposition in 1892. But they're quite toasted as are many of the other finds. The first pic below shows my finds from last Friday, and the last 2 represent a compilation of all the buttons, tokens and coins to come from this site so far. The grand totals for me are about 40 buttons, 5 silver coins, 20+ IHs, 4 liberty nickels, about 25 tokens, and 2 Jamestown Exposition pendants. Not sure when/if we'll make another trip there, but I'm sure we haven't come close to cleaning out the place yet.

Love those finds of local interest!

What a good site!!! We would kill for a site around here like that. I like the different things from different eras that you guys are finding. Good job.

wow..now that's one nice haul..nothing like that here in ohio...hh
owg..

Love the Jamestown pendants...the site/period significant pieces are so much more interesting than generic, find-it-anywhere stuff. Go back!

Wow great finds!

Great finds, what an awesome place to dig!

I agree with 2mtech, those Jamestown pendants are super cool. The 2 links look like part of a curb chain from a yankee horse bit. I'd put that place high on the list for a return visit. Great site and stuff, and as you say more stuff's there, keep us posted.

What a pile of history!

Site turned out to be pretty interesting. Too bad the soil was not a little more kind to the coins. I hope you get more info on the tokens.

Amazing group shot Bill. Boy that soil eats up them buttons. Great finds all around!
