below are some items I found today, I know the item in photo 1 is a pail but the item in photo 2 was inside it like a cover, photos 3 and 4 show how it fit inside, I also found some flat metal rectangle shaped things that look like shingles (sorry I did'nt get a photo of it) and there was what looks to be a slab of concrete, I don't know what it is for sure or how big it is yet, it got dark before I could find the ends of it.

Cool Find....Is that pail made of iron? Could it be some type of Dutch Oven thing for camp cooking?

Exactly....I learned that a few years ago chemicals from metal containers reek into sitting water and the animal drinks it causes toxic chemicals to makes them sick and could eventually kill them...stainless steel is the best...

Most larger breeds are very resilient. Dogs can eat or drink almost anything, dead and rotten road kill, rotten food from trashcans, vomit (those gastric juices are very rough) , and most of all CAT POOP man thats a delacasy for any dog. Stagnet water, sewer water and poluted creek water and anything else they run across. My dog would just as soon climb a pole and eat cat poop then stand on the ground and eat a steak. Oh yea she loves chicken bones and porkchop bones. Anyway ,you are correct in what you say, just dont water your Yorkie or or Poodle out of one of those and you will be fine. My dog is 17 years old, only been to vet. 2 times and can still hang with the best of them.
