I'm a commercial fisherman, mainly catching blue crabs, so check out this crab button! I love it, can anyone identify anything about it? Also my second ever trime, it came out black, and more buttons

I have not seen nor referenced a crab button. Dang Crabby, that's a beauty. I was a commercial Bayman on long island so clams hold a special place to me. Wish I could find a clam button.

With no other info I would go with turn of the century on the button. 1800's

Cool button and super nice trime.
I catch blue crabs too, but just for personal consumption.
They are plentiful in our waters, and most delicious.
No idea on age of button, but my guess is civilian dress.
The crab image looks very similar to some of the cancer the crab zodiac images i have seen.
Possibly worn or owned by someone who had that zodiac birth sign, or maybe just someone else who enjoyed eating crabs :-).
