Hi everybody, went to dump some coins and got some coins off the coin machine magnet. Only 4 coins, but it all adds up!

Here's what I got...
Top left: 1987 Canada $1 coin :hello2:
Top right: Thailand coin(no date, cannot identify, cool coin though!!)
Bottom left: 2008 Canada 1c
Bottom right: 2007 Malaysia 1 sen

Gotta love those magnet finds, like free money(literally), visiting another bank tomorrow hopefully, maybe more magnet coins to report tomorrow. It's always fun to find coins that the bank is going to throw out. Why throw out a canadian $1 coin when it is currently worth $1.02?? Yup, the Canadian dollar is currently worth more than the US dollar :help:

Scanned in 600 dpi for highest quality.*

HH all!

Love finding stuff on the magnet. It is amazing what all winds up there. Got a 1936 Canadian Nickel off of there once.

I know, magnet finds are awesome! I am saving all newer style canadian quarters to have a set of "state quarters" canadian version!

Yesterday i went after work to dump the nickel box which i got. It is the first and last nickel box i will ever do, but thats beside the point. I was not going to stop by the bank as i was running late, but what the hell.

Magnet find: 63!!! Steel pennies. I am not really sure how one dumps 63 steel pennies.

Since i dumped a good amount of nickels, the bag had to be switched out and the lady had to open the machine. When she did, i noticed that there was a coin stuck in the PVC pipe. From what i have seen, the pvc pipe which shoots the coins out to the reject tray is usually pretty worn out so coins get stuck there all the time. When you dump your coins, and you are shorted by the machine, most likely they are sitting in the pvc pipe.

Anywho, i see a coin and i tell the lady that i will just take it and there is no reason to throw it back into the machine, as they usally do out of courtesy. She looks at it and tells me that its a silver quarter and those dont go into the machine..... 1960 Uncirculated quarter.

I think i get more excited about dumping the coins and checking the magnet and reject tray more then opening 50 cent rolls. Is that weird?

I am really hoping for a score like that some day, someone's collection got dumped. I would seriously try to buy that bag of pennies, god knows what is in it. Awesome score, amazing to find that many. Since may I made maybe 8 bank stops to clean the magnet and got 3 or 4 steelies, all philly except 1 denver. Love those. I really hope I find more later when I visitanother dump bank! (the thrill of going to the bank, not only is it a dump bank, but they let me get the magnet coins. Also, since they have a coin machine, they know I collect coins. They sell me boxes of coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters)!!! Can a dump bank get any better than that?! That's America's most convenient bank :headbang:

Unfortunately TD bank will not sell bags. I have not asked, but i am pretty sure i read on this thread that they are not allowed. What made me upset is that when i looked at the receipt, it had all of my nickels, but also had 5 quarters counted towards my total. Now i will never know if they were silvers as well and just didnt end up in the reject tray :(
If i was smart i would have told the Teller that i accidentally dumped the silver quarters, and maybe she would let me take the ones on the top of the bag if we saw any, but sometimes i am not too bright....

don'e be down on yourself, I once saw a ben franklin in the half bag, they would not let me swap. another time, I was dumping and the teller removed the bag off the machine full of halves and I heard the silver ping. She let me swap out clad for silver(different teller). only ended up with 13 40% and a 1964, I knew there were more in there but I could not hold up the line(4 people behing me) and I was being rished by the teller. At least she let me swap some :)

Stopped by the bank today to pick up some moneys to buy boxes at another bank...and couldnt help but dump some loose change i had in the car and check the magnet. Attached are the finds. Not sure what the Chinese coin. It wasnt magnetic, it was sitting in the PVC pipe end. Also there was the most mangled $1 coin i have ever seen just laying on top of the counter, i guess the person did not want it. I'll take it! It's still legal tender in my book :)
