Hi all,

A bit chilly today but I got out to the bottle dump once more in December.

Today's random finds included a 1933 Pennsylvania fishing license pin, a silver king golf ball, a tootsie toy coal car, a Victory Toy Co. glass tank (candy holder), eight marbles and three more compacts. I also found two local milk bottles (quart and pint) and a Kerr midget jar. The glass is pictured dirty, they are still soaking.

Still trying to ID an odd metal egg, a rusty can opener (may be a local business premium) and another pinback that I cant quite make out.

All in all it was good fun. Thanks for letting me share.

Mr R

I love finding milk bottles in dumps!! I live at bottom part of Pa.. what are the dairys for the milk bottles? I guess you won't be digging bottles for awhile.. you'll be digging snow..

its always good to have a good dump every so often!

Thanks all for the nice comments! It is a fun dump to dig.

The dump is in an old strip mining operation that left a series extremely narrow valleys with sharp peaks in between. After it was mined out the locals found that it was a good place to dump glass and old metal. It was never an official dump so there was no burning, just piling...

creeper71: The dairies are Borden and Lewis, both from a town several miles from the dump. I am afraid you are right about the snow.

The tank is pristine with a small rust stain on the bottom that a little elbow grease will surely remove. I figured it was worth a few bucks, I have seen others in antique stores. Maybe that is where this one will end up... ;D

If I do not post again this week, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all TN members a Merry Christmas, be safe!!

I do believe the borden's is fairly common milk the other one I'm not sure about... btw the hidden illegal dumps are the best dumps to find
