Any ideas on the age/type of the buckle? The musket ball is 11/16" ... any info on what type of gun? The handle was very deep ~ 12" and is brass...any ideas what it's from? The dandy button is a mate to one I found last year in the front of the house. This one has the full shank. The decoration has three small holes for nails--any ideas as to what it might have been nailed to? It has the designation "K226" on the back in old fashioned lettering.

Think that buckle is a frame buckle with no tongue the frames are rectangle and joined by a center post.. Nice 18th century relics.

If i recall and someone could correct me.. That type of buckle may have been used for a sword baldrick..

Think that buckle is a double frame buckle with no tongue the frames are ovoid and joined by a center post.. Nice 18th century relics.

Hi HSD, Thanks for the info on the buckle. The center is round and the rest of the frame is square. The tongue is that shot rusted piece that you see in the photo. This is the first buckle of this type that I've found.

Ahh okay my bad didn't see the rusted out tongue there I thought this buckle was similar to style N in the photo which is a buckle that was used for a sword baldrick but with no tongue!

Well lets give this another shot.. Here is a similar buckle that is described as A big double buckle for baldric which is a belt worn over one shoulder that is typically used to carry a weapon dates too mid 17th century up to the 18th century. Could be similar.

Nice finds Erik in NJ!

Great finds! Now that your spot is "hunted out" go back with the CTX and a 17" coil!

Sorry about my phone drop last night. It took 5 very frustrating minutes to unwedge it from between the car seat and center console.

Nice
