It was me I dropped it in.....(hang on I have to check where the OP is from)........Central Mass..........ya that's where I dropped it! :laughing7:

Maybe this place had a coin show and the person dropped this (and more) loading up his or her car.
That is probably the best surface find ever.

Someone must have carried it as a good luck piece and dropped it in the parking lot. The snow plow then pushed it up against the edge of the lot and your sister in law had the good eye to see it. I find quite a bit of jewelry this way, and will specifically walk the edges of snow piles when they start to thaw, just to supplement my Winter time treasure hunting when the ground is to frozen to dig. Great find.
 

Check it with a magnet, just to be sure.

Cool find. I would weigh it, lot of fake Morgans on the market now and the fact that it was on the surface is suspect.
