You get what ya pay for no short cuts when it comes to pin pointers, what you have looks to be the chines knock off of the Garrett ATpro pointer, if that's the case they are junk and a waist of money....

What many say, which is that the high end pointers are better is absolutely true. In fact, I am saving for. Whites TRX. However, in the meantime I am using a pointer called a tinyfish, which is in reality the same as the mosunece. The quality control on these Chinese units varies to equal the hi end units and runs all the way down to just awful. You might have to return it to get a good one, or simply "super tune" it like I did mine with a pinch style metal hose clamp. Just understand and recognize the lower end units work fine(some REALLY fine) but some don't. I think ok, if that's what you can afford right now, go for it. But kinda start setting a few pennies aside for a good one.
