Interesting! My first bottle of Mountain Dew was bought for me in 1964 out of a pop machine by a high school senior. I was in 6th grade so I was happy when the older kid gave it to me. (He still lives a few miles away)
I used to collect the bottles and had about 30 or 40 with different names on them but eventually got hard up and turned them in for the two cent deposit in the early '70s. I have drank a lot of it over the years but since Diet Mt. Dew came out around 1986 that is what I have preferred. I enjoyed reading the articles and had no idea some of the scarcer bottles were so valuable.

I Was Into Mt Dew for at Least a Few Months when I First found It.
However one day I Got Sick of the Taste,

haven't had any since.

Same Happened With YooHoo & Grape Soda I think NeHi ?

I over Indulged, Got Sick & Stopped :laughing7:

Tried Freska, Dr Pepper & Sasaperlla Couldn't Stand any of them

Interesting, had no idea they had different names. That's pretty cool!

I've loved Mountain Dew since we first got it in the soda machine at my dad's body shop when I was a kid. I remember it, so maybe I was 4 or 5. Still drink it today from time to time. Tasted much better back in the 70's though.

Both Granny and Jed bottles are commons and book at $15 each. If you want to start collecting Dew bottles, pick up Dick Bridgforth's book covering Dew bottles. He also has a book on Dew collectibles and one on the history of Dew

Yes I'm aware of the Books. I Have the History Book !
I wouldn't Collect Them, I Just Liked the Granny & Jed Ones

I have found Mountain Dew bottles in every state that i have lived in: Pa., Tn., Ga., Texas, Ma. NC. and now in Alabama. They are beautiful bottles and love them all.

I only found one Hillbilly can worth Bringing Home.
it was found deep in Thick Grease-Like Lake mud. no oxygen till I Found it
