Mt. Vernon hunt Sept. 25-26

What does that include ???

Hey Paul I'd only advise going to one as a walk-on for the first time to see what's involved. Unless you're real familiar with speed-detecting and fast recovery you might get a bit bewildered at first.

I find it a great way to get away from the conventional detecting routine and not just dig some coin, but win a prize or two and meet some strangers, the kind you've been warned about!

No time to second guess your machine, it beeps, you pinpoint and recover and move on. You can get addicted to it!

I've never been on a seeded hunt, but personally I think I would get more satisfaction from
digging a 100 yo wheatie than a seeded Seated.

So would everyone else who goes to those things John. I've never seen anyone at one of those hunts thinking how cool any one of the silver dollars or halves or smaller coins that they recovered was, that's not the point.

It's a lot more fun than that. Go to one sometime to watch, you'll be more than amused I'm sure. And there's a great bunch of people there sharing tips, tales and tea.

I agree,

However, if time & funds allow, being able to meet up with a few fellow freaks would be cool... 8)
