When I was living in Ch'ville, Va. (UVA) in the early 80's, he did a FREE "Public Service Announcement" for a place I worked as a volunteer, Hearth Stone Children's House (before Ronald's McDonald's House). He was living in Nelson County, Va. at that time... GREAT guy! He LOVED Kids...

Great boxer.

Convicted for draft dodging, refused to serve in the US Military. Changed his "slave name" and became a Muslim while avoiding his conviction. (eventually overturned based on his new religion) 4 marriages, lot's of children.

I'm trying to figure out why he took up the entire front page of the Tampa Bay Times paper this morning.

I'm sorry for the family's loss. It's sad to loose anyone you love. My sympathies for losing a family member.

But a world hero?

He was, a great boxer.

Great loss, r.i.p.
