Bob found this saturday at Pullen park near the old Armory and gave it to me.

It is very heavy and easy to gouge.

On this same property i`ve found lots of lead, an ingot and a couple of old Springfield Trapdoor Casings.
Plus plenty of other goodies like a gold wedding band and 100 Drakma.

Got any ideas?

Plausible, the ribbed area could be where the case material sealed the acid from the 'pole' which is on the outside of the case, and the six tabs on the underside, would be connections for each cell, yielding a 12 volt battery (2 volts per each wet cell)
