This stuff was used to sheath the bottoms of sailing ships. 60 copper 40 zinc and trace iron. Its extra heavy and it dosent tarnish like copper or brass. When you clean it up you really want to convince yourself its gold and copper melted together.

Found this piece today at a spot where the old wreckers would have been salvaging this stuff back in the day. Either that or part of a wreck was burnt here. I've only ever found a few nuggs of it........its kinda rare to find for me. This stuff stays real pretty for along time without tarnishing. Copper, brass, aluminum, bronze, and muntz metal. Still never found a piece of silver or gold melt slag !! This little sucker is 55 grams.
